The Florida Panthers should win the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs and hoist Lord Stanley’s Cup high. Unfortunately, their fairy tale run will not have the storybook ending it deserves. Potentially the NHL’s most disliked team, the Vegas Golden Knights, are also a team of destiny with an unlikely playoff hero in Adin Hill who has emerged as a starter and a Conn Smythe favourite. The Knights will win this series based on scheduling. As weird of a reason as it is, the Panthers had a ten-day layover in between the end of their round three matchup with the Carolina Hurricanes and game one of the Stanley Cup Finals. A long enough break to cool down their hot stretch of hockey that got them there. That ten day pause likely pulled Sergei Bobrovsky out of his round three groove. With Vegas only having four off days between the end of their round three and game one of the cup finals, their squad is refreshed and ready for game action. The early series lead they jump out too will be too much for Matthew Tkachuk and the Panthers to overcome. Expect a deep Vegas team to handle the grit of the Panthers well and receive goals from all four lines. Knights in six is our sad reality.
